We have a well-established track record of “fighting fires”.  In all cases, our work is built around four goals:

  • To operate within the legal constraints of the situation;
  • To make sure clients are portrayed fairly, accurately and responsibly in the media (including Internet bloggers);
  • To allow clients to preserve their reputations, whether or not legal actions result from the initial crisis; and
  • To enable clients to get back to business as usual. 

What We Deliver

When a crisis occurs, our work may include any or all of the following:

  • Formulating strategy with legal counsel, senior management, in-house public relations and marketing executives and stakeholders;
  • Creating responses consistent with a client’s business strategy, vision and principles. If you are representing the client as an individual, the response will be consistent with the client’s personal values and principles;
  • Collaborating with legal counsel on the content and distribution of appropriate materials to the members of the media;
  • Serving as liaison between members of the press, legal counsel and corporate officials 24-hours a day;
  • Collaborating with legal counsel to prepare in-house executives for interviews through media training (including on-camera interview simulations), creation of key talking points, and performing question and answer drills;
  • Functioning as spokesperson, where appropriate;
  • Creating communication vehicles for stakeholders such as customers, employees, members of the Board, volunteers and vendors;
  • Leading a post-crisis review of responses and outcomes;
  • Updating the Crisis Plan based upon the post-crisis review; and
  • Suggesting follow-up public relations activities to help restore the organization’s reputation and status within the community.
