Andrea Obston Crisis Management has a well-established track record of assisting companies, organizations and attorneys with crisis situations. Our crisis experience includes work for the following clients:

Chrysalis Center, which hired the firm to create a Crisis Communications Plan to deal with the influx of new high-risk clients. The plan received a Communicators’ Award in an international competition.

Clasp Homes, which runs a group home in which a resident’s death occurred.

Connecticut Association of Boards of Education, which employed the firm to train staff and board members in responding to ongoing challenging education issues.

Connecticut Historical Society, where we represented them on several occasions, including the organization’s assumption of the Old State House’s management during difficult economic circumstances, and a controversy over the provenance of Native American artifacts in the museum’s collection.

Corporation for Independent Living, which had received two years of negative press on a low-income housing project in Simsbury and which is now receiving fair coverage after pro-active efforts on the part of this firm.

CP Management, which was targeted by a disgruntled union as a place to “make a stand” over the past 14 months.

Curtis Packaging, a company from which $2.7 million was embezzled, which prompted false rumors that the company was in serious financial trouble.  This firm engineered an aggressive media campaign, which resulted in positive, front-page stories on the company’s on-going health.

Franklin Farms, a producer of mushrooms and specialty foods, which closed its local operation, laying off more than 500 workers.

Ana-Maria Garcia, former Chief Administrator for the Hartford School System, who worked with the firm to put press allegations into her character into proper context and withdraw from her position with dignity.

The Greater Bridgeport Area Foundation, which asked for help recovering after the departure of its Executive Director.

The Greater Hartford Jaycees and Canon Greater Hartford Open, which has employed the firm as crisis managers and media trainers since 1994.  We recently handled the sensitive issues surrounding the arrest and subsequent resignation of the Chapter president due to his arrest on sexual assault matters.

Hartford Seminary, which sought the firm’s advice in dealing with the highly emotional response to an editorial on the State of Israel.

Hartford Hospital, which employed the firm to train 60 of its doctors in dealing with difficult medical issues.

Evans Jacobs, City of Hartford Assistant Corporate Counsel, who employed this firm to handle his response to being characterized as a “slumlord” by the state’s largest news paper.

The Jewish Federation of Des Moines, which received community criticism for being unable to provide treatment for a Holocaust victim in a nursing home they oversee.

RiversEdge Farm, which hired the firm to help them deal with the farm’s quarantine due to a potentially catastrophic outbreak of an equine disease with the potential to do damage to its riders, owners and horses.

Sarracco Mechanical Systems, which was fined by the Connecticut Attorney General following an investigation of Waterbury City Hall corruption.

Trans-Act Technologies Incorporated, a publicly traded manufacturer of transaction-based printers, which employed this firm to handle local media on the closing of their Wallingford facility.

Workstage CT, builders of the Mortgage Lenders Network building, which asked for help recovering after Mortgage Lenders declared bankruptcy.

Plus, work for a number of attorneys of high profile, confidential legal matters.
