Susan has nearly 20 years of journalism and public relations experience in the Connecticut market. Her background in crisis management stems from a decade of experience as director of public relations and marketing at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center where her role included crisis communications during mergers, acquisitions and medical emergencies.
During her six-year tenure at Andrea Obston Marketing Communications, Susan has consulted on crisis situations for number of clients, providing strategic direction, communications materials and media relations. She came to Andrea Obston Marketing Communications after serving as public relations manager at Williams and House, a communications planning firm in Avon. There she handled media relations and marketing communications for clients in a variety of industries, including health care, graphic arts, publishing and financial services.
She began her career as a newspaper reporter, working at both weekly and daily newspapers. Susan also served on the board of the Connecticut Valley Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America for many years as well as several other nonprofit boards. She is currently a board member of the Spiritual Life Center in Bloomfield.
Sue has a B.A. from the University of Connecticut with a concentration in journalism. She has received numerous awards, including The Public Relations Society of America’s Mercury Award, The Communicator Award and a CLIO award.
