Andrea Obston is president of Andrea Obston Crisis Management (AOCM) and has been managing crises for clients for the past 25 years. Andrea has worked with local and national clients ranging from law firms to LLC’s to worldwide corporations.
Andrea’s column, The Reputation Manager, appears monthly in the Connecticut Law Tribune.
Before starting her own firm, Andrea oversaw the Public Relations Department for a large advertising firm. Among the accounts she handled were Advest, Union Trust, 7-UP, the Farley Company and the Connecticut State Lottery where she consulted during a crisis in which the integrity of one of the game was contested in the media.
In 2005 and 2007, AOCM was named as one of the state’s best public relations firms for attorneys by the Connecticut Law Tribune. In 2005, Andrea was named the outstanding Connecticut Woman Business Owner of the Year by the Connecticut Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). She was also honored by The Greater Hartford Chamber of Commerce, when she was named the 1998 Small Business Leader of the year.
Andrea is an adjunct professor in the public relations department of Quinnipiac University’s School of Communication. She is an active public speaker and has presented programs for the American Waterworks Association, the Connecticut Bankers Association, the Connecticut Association for Home Care & Hospice, the Connecticut Bar, the Connecticut Association of Nonprofits, Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, University of Connecticut MBA program and Hartford College for Women, Greater Bridgeport and Waterbury Foundations and Progressive Business Conferences.
Andrea received her MBA from the University of Connecticut; and her BS in public relations from Boston University, School of Public Communications.
